Recognizing that it takes courage to reach out for help, I provide a safe, non-judgmental and supportive environment to nurture healing, learn new skills, and foster hope. I love helping people connect with their own strengths in order to make the changes they desire. My approach is one of compassion, respect, and a fundamental belief in the goodness of people.
I work with both individuals and couples, and have experience and comfort working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, and grief. I help couples to reconnect, improve communication, resolve conflict, or heal from betrayal. I also have experience working with trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and have a personal understanding of some of the unique stresses of first responders and their families.
As a lifelong learner, I have had training in a number of treatment modalities. Based on individual needs and goals, I incorporate the following treatment modalities in my practice: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Hakomi (body-centered therapy), Emotionally Focused Therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
I have provided community presentations on a number of topics including trauma, self-compassion, burnout, and compassion fatigue.
My husband and I have three grown children and are now proud grandparents. I love spending time in nature, connecting deeply with people, and playing with my grandchildren.
Whether your goal is to focus on a particular life challenge, strengthen your relationships, heal from trauma, or change patterns of behavior that are no longer serving you well, it would be my honor to support you on this journey.
